One person has been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the crash, on the eastbound carriageway, just before 1pm today, Suffolk police said.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said officers and an ambulance were called.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We sent one ambulance and took a person to West Suffolk Hospital for further care."

According to the AA traffic map there were long delays in the area while emergency services attended the scene.

The extent of any injuries is not yet known.
