Cadets from Thurston’s 863 Squadron Air Training Corps, held a raft of celebrations at their carol service.

Sergeant David Cobbold (above right) was presented the highest academic award of Master Cadet by Air Vice Marshall David Murray, who also presented a new banner to the squadron.

The service, held at Pakenham parish church, was also a chance for eight new recruits to be enrolled into the squadron.

Sgt Cobbold said: “It was a great honour to be part of this special occasion.”
