Power workers have raised more than £1,000 for a cancer charity in memory of a much-loved colleague.

UK Power Networks staff based in Barton Road,
Bury St Edmunds, have packed more than 60 Christmas hampers to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The idea was the brainchild of Jana Kosikova, who decided to embark on the fundraiser in memory of Paul Eaves, 53, who died from prostate cancer in October.

She said: “I am really proud of my colleagues and everyone who helped. There were so many things to do.

“I even got my boyfriend involved at the weekends helping to pack up the hampers.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped out for such an important cause.”

You can buy the hampers from the Cancer Research UK shop in Abbeygate Street for between £7 and £15. They will also be raffled and tickets cost £1 for five.
