The mayor of St Edmundsbury Julia Wakelam has launched a festival marking the final week of the Ivory cafe and cocktail bar in Bury St Edmunds.
As previously reported, the popular town-centre venue is closing at the end of this week after it was unable to renew its lease with the landlord. Despite wanting to stay on, the business has no choice but to leave and so has launched a farewell festival every day this week until its final night on Saturday.
Events include a 1950s-style diner day tomorrow, a karaoke night today with a funky Friday and guest DJs on Saturday.
