A man in his 60s suffered a black eye after being attacked by a group of teenagers in Bury St Edmunds.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Friday, December 28, around 7.45pm in Trevethan Close near to Oakes Road.

The man was walking towards the town centre when he was approached by a teenage boy, who made an offensive gesture which caused him to stop.

Three other teenage boys then came from behind the victim and pushed him to the floor. He was then punched in the face before the gang ran off.

The man suffered a black eye and cuts to his face and knee.

The first boy is described as white, 14-15 years of age and was wearing black clothing.
