With just three weeks left to go, Greyhound is still topping Suffolk Dog Day’s birthday poll which has seen thousands of people vote online for their favourite breed.
The Dog of the Decade competition, which is being held to mark the 10th year of Suffolk Dog Day, is open for votes until July 3 but Suffolk Community Foundation’s Tim Holder says the current number one is racing ahead: “We have seen a massive surge in support for the much loved Greyhound, the breed of speed with a commanding lead! We think maybe the support from their wonderful rescue centres has made all the difference. There is still time to catch them up and make sure that your favourite dog is included in the top ten special breed parades we have planned for the winners. Keep voting!”
Other current favourites include the loyal Tibetan Terrier, the affectionate Cockapoo and the eager Beagle.
To vote for your favourite breed, visit suffolkdogday.com/competition and you could win tickets to the charity event at Helmingham Hall on July 30 and a substantial doggy goody bag.
