Atmosphere is key to one Bury St Edmunds restaurant, which is celebrating its second mention in a national food guide in a week.

On October 12, Maison Bleue was named one of the best places to enjoy art while you eat, not only for the artwork displayed on the walls but also for its quirky interior design.

Now, The Good Food Guide has named its top 15 "warmest" restaurants in the UK, a list showing off the eateries with both the best service and best atmosphere.

The Maison Bleue on Churchgate Street is the only restaurant in Suffolk to have made the list.

As an establishment that serves French cuisine, diners are encouraged to take their time with their meal.

"There’s a serenity about Maison Bleue, a kind of timeless elegance and comfort that elevates 'lunch' to 'luuuunch'," reads the Good Food Guide.

"The combination of graceful service delivered by exceptional people and a menu of classical French cookery is everything a restaurant should be."

The Good Food Guide rates restaurants based on four criteria: uniqueness, deliciousness, warmth and strength of recommendation.
