Customers have been flocking to a Suffolk chicken restaurant after a "wildly amazing" review from a TikTok star.

Nathan and Jessie Grinham, the owners of Peck Fried Chicken in St John's Street in Bury St Edmunds, have been overwhelmed by the response from a Food Review Club TikTok video that was posted three days ago.

The clip has already amassed more than 500,000 views on the social media platform.

"It has gone mad," said Mr Grinham said.

"Yesterday we sold two days worth of stock in a single day.

"The floodgates have opened - we didn't realise how quickly it would take off!"

The arrival of Food Review Club was a surprise, and neither Mr or Mrs Grinham were in the restaurant when the TikToker arrived.

"Our staff absolutely smashed it - especially our manager Lil, who served him," said Mr Grinham.

"The review is sensational."

In its review, Food Review Club said: "I'm just perplexed.

"That is wildly amazing.

"You aren't beating that.

"This is stop what you're doing right now, gather up all the children, pack the bags, we are going to Bury St Edmunds."

He then went on to describe it as "fried chicken from the Gods," "unbeatable" and "up there with some of the biggest names in the game," rating the food a near-perfect score of 9.8 out of 10.

The TikToker ordered the food recommended by general manager Lil, who he praises heavily in the video: The Miss Maple burger, buff wings, cowgirl fries and a chocolate malt milkshake.

Despite the opening of several chicken chain restaurant competitors in Bury St Edmunds, Peck hasn't seen its business suffer.

"We've got a wonderful, loyal customer base," said Mr Grinham.

After moving into the St John's Street shop in March 2021, the shop has continued to gain popularity and is now a top choice for wedding catering in the area too.

The takeaway is open from Wednesday to Saturday and only serves the freshest chicken, hand-reared locally in the Suffolk countryside.
