With the end of the summer BBQs comes the return of the Sunday roast dinner and, after the weather we have had this August, it couldn't have come sooner.

A cosy pub makes the ideal location for a delicious roast, so we asked Google where to eat the best pub Sunday roast dinner in Suffolk.

These are the top-rated roasts in the region:

1. The Froize

Where: Woodbridge

Rating: 4.8

The Froize hosts several events but performs particularly well on Google for their roast dinner.

The pub-restaurant specialises in fresh and local produce so, whilst there isn't yet an up-to-date roast menu on their website, the images of past Sunday lunches can make your mouth water. Tender red meat, crispy roast potatoes and lashings of gravy. Delicious.

2. Fox and Goose

Where: Fressingfield

Rating: 4.7

The Sunday lunch at The Fox and Goose is priced at two courses for £27 and three for £34. The menu is extensive - a choice of beef or pork for meat eaters, and two fish choices too.

The potatoes - a choice of mille-feuille or roasted, are both crispy and flavoursome, and both roasts are served with a range of vegetables for diners to enjoy. This is a slightly more up-market Sunday lunch, where the choices aren't necessarily a classic roast, but there is something for everyone here.

The Butt and Oyster has an excellent reputation around Suffolk for its fresh seafood. However, it has scored highly on Google ratings for its roasts as well.

While it is early, its Christmas dinner menu sounds divine: Roast Crown of Norfolk Turkey, roast potatoes, pig in blanket, sage & onion stuffing, vegetables, and gravy. They are keeping it local and fresh, all served with a beautiful view of the River Orwell. Perfect to relax on an autumn day.
