A dance studio in Bury St Edmunds may be converted into four apartments.

Former Hazelwood Dance Studios at 110 Northgate Street in the west Suffolk town centre could be turned into two one-bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments.

The grade II listed building was previously a house, school and college before becoming business units, offices, apartments and finally a dance school.

Due to retirement, the dance school was sold and relocated to Hollow Road in part of the former Marlows site.

The site includes a small area of hard paving, which would become the private entrance way, and a small courtyard garden for the proposed apartments.

There would also be one car park for each flat.

The plans also include a new sitting room on the roof and a roof garden.

The layout of the site would remain unchanged, with building and parking in their current position.

There are no objections to the application in terms of the impact on the conservation area.
