A building at a former Woolpit garden supplies store could be replaced with a bungalow under new plans.

The building at the back of the former Spooners of Woolpit site, off The Heath in the village, would be demolished, along with an exisiting garage and storage area, in plans submitted to West Suffolk Council last week.

A self-build bungalow, complete with planting and a back garden, is then proposed to replace the building.

The site is already home to one bungalow to the front and The Annexe Spooners holiday home, which is available for holidaymakers to rent for short stays.

The Annexe has one bedroom, a bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining area.

The proposed bungalow would have solar panels on the roof as well as use of an existing double garage for parking.

The garden would be partially turfed with a private patio and 1.8m high close boarded fence surrounding it.

The exisiting building was built as a games room and will be completely removed in proposals.
