Police are appealing for information after five young hawks were shot dead in a west Suffolk forest.

The goshawks were found in the King's Forest, between Bury St Edmunds and Thetford, on Tuesday.

Officers from Suffolk police's Rural, Wildlife and Heritage Policing team shared pictures of the birds of prey on social media.

Writing on Twitter, they said: "Here’s a chance for the shooting community to protect its reputation and future.

"Do the right thing. Tell us who shot these five young goshawks dumped in the King's Forest.

"This is shocking and there should be no hiding place for the culprit. There’s no place for this in 2023."
