More than 100 pupils from four west Suffolk schools came together to produce a performance of Grease the musical in Bury St Edmunds.
The King Edward VI School show sold out for every one of its five shows, with a student-led band and production being highlights.
The director, Jonathan Lodge, said: “After the success last year with Schools Will Rock You, we were seeking another popular blockbuster in which we could involve as many students as possible and attract a large enthusiastic audience from our school community.
“When headmaster Geoff Barton suggested Grease, I leapt at the chance. Everyone has a secret soft spot for this iconic piece of musical theatre and movie history.
“It is a tale of firsts – first love, first heartbreak, first car – with our student population seizing the opportunity to take part in our own incarnation auditioning in their hundreds.
“The final show is the product of six months of endeavours, a large cast with extra students from our partnership middle schools.
“The band is almost entirely made up of student musicians, as is the stage crew, and front of house teams supported by student volunteers.”
Pupils from St James Middle School, Hardwick Middle School and Westley Middle School also took part in the production with King Edward VI School.
