Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old was knocked off his bike on a zebra crossing.

Officers from Suffolk Constabulary want to talk to the driver of a black Volkswagen or small hatchback in connection with the crash, which saw a boy fall from his bike in Bury St Edmunds.

Detectives believe the boy was attempting to cycle over the zebra crossing in Mount Road when a car collided with him at the junction and appeared to knock him from his bike.

While the motorist did stop to assist the boy, no details were left to assist officers with their enquiries.

Police now want to hear from anyone who saw the collision or has dash cam footage of the incident.

To help, call Suffolk Constabulary on 101 quoting CAD 362 of December 17.
