Celebrate Roald Dahl Day 2017 by taking our quiz and seeing how much you know about the legendary author.

Roald Dahl blessed the world with his much-cherished children’s fiction books that remain all time classics today.

He was born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1916, and spent his life as a novelist, short story writer, poet, screenwriter, and fighter pilot during the Second World War.

In 1943, he wrote his first children’s fiction book, The Gremlins, which was then followed by James and the Giant Peach in 1961.

During his writing career which spanned over almost 50 years until his death in 1990, he published all-time favourites and has sold over 250 million books worldwide.

These adored classics include titles such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Twits and The BFG to name a few.

Although he was a world-famous children’s author, he was also a respected adult short story writer, earning himself three Edgar Awards presented by The Mystery Writers of America.
