VISITORS to a west Suffolk market next week will be able to show their support for it by walking off with a branded jute bag.
The plush flat-bottomed bags will be handed out on Wednesday to visitors shopping at the twice-weekly Bury St Edmunds market.
Robert Everitt, St Edmundsbury cabinet member for community services, said the bags were a great way of promoting the market, adding: “With lots of us rediscovering Bury market’s traditional, personal service, a good strong market bag is ideal for carrying all the locally-sourced produce.”
John Webber, chairman of the town’s Market Traders’ Association, backed the scheme.
