A bright idea by a 15-year-old on work experience at Bury St Edmunds’ St Nicholas Hospice has led to a new fund-raising bid by the charity.

People are being asked to snap a selfie of themselves in their pyjamas during the cold winter months and donate £1 to the hospice.

The idea was inspired by 15-year-old Hope Drew from the County Upper School who was asked to come with a theme for the charity’s annual text donate campaign by the fundraising team.

Having been inspired by the hospice’s biggest fundraising event Girls Night Out, Hope suggested asking people to take pyjama selfies and then donate £1 to the hospice.

Hope said: “During my work experience I have been interested in learning a lot more about the hospice. Although my mum is a nursing assistant at the hospice I have realised there is a lot about the charity that I didn’t know.”

You can support the hospice’s campaign by taking a selfie in your pyjamas, donating £1 by texting STNH17 £1 to 70070, and encouraging others to do the same.
