A SUFFOLK charity has formed a partnership with one of the UK’s largest employment and skills providers to help some of the county’s most troubled families.
Workwise, based in Bury St Edmunds, is working with Reed in Partnership to offer families with multiple needs access to an eight-week course aiming to help them find employment, volunteering opportunities or move into further education.
Those who successfully complete the course will gain a NCON Level 2 qualification.
Those invited to take part in the scheme include families who may have endured several generations of unemployment, those who may have lacked formal education or those suffering from various other social difficulties.
The families will be supported with CV development, building workplace relationship, communication, goal-setting, computer and interview skills.
Reed in Partnership works with a number of partners, including Jobcentre Plus, the European Social Fund, local authorities and third -sector organisations to help people boost their employability. Workwise, which is based on three sites in Bury St Edmunds, specialises in supporting adults with mental health issues.
