A sell-out masquerade ball held in Newmarket at the weekend raised vital funds for a charity which provides support to injured jockeys.

Organised by the East of England Co-op Funeral Services, the ball took place at The Racing Centre in the town on Saturday, June 9.

More than 100 people attended the event, which raised a total of £2,140 for the Injured Jockeys Fund charity.

The event also featured live music, magic, fine Indian dining and a raffle with a selection of prizes donated by local businesses including Cambridge Escape Rooms, Snailriver Horse Drawn Carriage Company, and Travis Perkins.

Sara Vail, coordinator at the East of England Co-op Funeral Services Newmarket, said: “We were overwhelmed with positive feedback from guests who said they had a wonderful time – one even exclaimed she had never danced so much in one night.

“People are already asking if the East of England Co-op Funeral Services will be hosting a similar event again next year.

“I would like to thank The Racing Centre and Cambridge Samosa Company for producing such excellent food and service, both of which helped contribute to a wonderful evening.”
