An elderly woman on a mobility scooter inadvertently drove onto the A14 this morning and had to be escorted off by police.

The incident took place around 10.10am after Suffolk police received reports that a woman on a mobility scooter was travelling westbound on the A14 at Sproughton.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the woman was escorted off the carriageway by officers.
