MONEY raised in honour of a west Suffolk soldier killed in Afghanistan has been handed over to good causes.
Rugby and football matches involving the Household Cavalry were held last year in honour of Lance Corporal of Horse Jo Woodgate, of Lavenham, who died in Helmand in March 2010, aged 26.
The Household Cavalry Operational Casulties Fund and Suffolk County Royal British Legion were both presented with cheques of £1,525 as a result of the matches.
Hundreds of people turned out to support the two events, which were held in Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds.
Mark Consadine, of the organising group Lavenham Charity Challenge, thanked everybody involved.
