Storm Aileen brought 60mph winds to Suffolk and north Essex this week, causing falling trees, blocked roads and homes without power. But what will the weather bring this weekend?

The MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms for Tuesday and Wednesday saying there could be a risk of flash flooding, large hailstones and power outages in Suffolk and Essex.

Weatherquest forecaster James Wilby talks us through the weather forecast for Latitude 2017 in Henham Park, near Southwold, throughout today (Saturday, July 15).

People in Suffolk and Essex have been warned they could face lashings of heavy rain today, with the region set for thunder and lightning.

Nearly a month’s rain fall fell on Suffolk in the space of a day, as the prolonged dry spell came to a dramatic end.

After some glorious weather this weekend, Weatherquest forecaster Dan Holley tells us what we can expect next week.

Forecasters have also warned of more rain on the way this weekend after thunderstorms and torrential downpours were predicted to hit the region tomorrow.

Temperatures could soar up to 28C (82.4F) this Bank Holiday weekend, but forecasters have warned of a risk of thunderstorms.

Suffolk and Essex saw rainfall in April drop by almost 70 percent compared to last year - causing devastating effects to wildlife and increasing the chances of fires catching and spreading.

From long spells of warm sunshine to late April showers, Suffolk and Essex residents can expect changeable weather over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Just a few short weeks after temperatures soared to 24°C in Suffolk on April 9, rapidly-changing weather conditions saw a number of snap hail storms batter Suffolk this afternoon.

Suffolk and Essex are set for the warmest weekend of the year with temperatures expected to reach a balmy 21C (70F) on Sunday.
